A question - is the ecu on a UK 1999 V5 impreza turbo remappable?

Post by Ben »

Can't find an answer on the net - asking on behalf of a chap at work - he just bought a 1999 V5 impreza turbo with 60k on the clock - it was a trade in so doesn't have full story on car.

Only mods I can see are a VF24 turbo and exhaust (it has comprehensive Service history and receipts but nothing about mapping / fuel pumps, injectors etc) it has multiple rolling road runs showing it running 234 then further ones later the same day running 299bhp.

So it must have been remapped at some point BUT - it's still on original ecu? - my ecu is remappable but didn't know if uk one's were?. I suggested he called the company who did the rolling road.

Also it was actually missing the pipe that runs from the turbo nipple to the boost solenoid - I got him to replace it - can only imagine a boost controller was removed.
