Alarm help

Post by jazzymonkey »

Help! Just bought a new project car and the blokes wife washed the car alarm fob!
The alarm is a Cobra 5370. Does anyone know how to bypass the alarm so i can get the car started and home then remove it at my leisure?
Ps i am not a car thief.
Thanks in advance.

you need to find out were the emobiliser is located (follow egnition down and should be under the dash on right) disconect it and cut the wires to the alarm sounder itself, if you can get a wiring diagram will help locate and ive correct wires.

this used to work on older car alarms(dont ask me how:ack2:)

Think i need to get the car back to mine and remove it methodically and at my leisure. That method sounds a bit drastic!

Does it have the touch key?

My Cobra has both so if the battery dies in the remote I can use the touchkey to disarm it instead.

Means you set the alarm off when you open the door first but it does mean you aren't stuck.

Good point Ady!
Also if you have any litrature with the car for the alarm, Then maybe contacting cobra direct might be an option as some imobilizers can be over-ridden by an ignition sequence?

All sorted, glove box and centre consol removed. Hour and a half later and a pile of boxes and wires and it was out, splices removed and repaired.
And it didnt start!!
Tried another key and voila!!! vroom vroom!
