steering rack / diff problem ?

Post by evildave »

if i pull away slowly while turning the wheel i get a loud constant tapping noise similar to a rachet slipping, could this be my steering rack or something more sinister? seems to come from the drivers side front area. doesn't seem to do it (as much) at higher speeds.

A clicking noise, on full lock, usually indicates a CV joint problem.

I am up at the TOTB this weekend Dave, but if you want pop around and I will have a look for you.
I think you know where I live, lol

We had a simular problem on Darrens Scoob and we eventually found that an engine mount had gone and the engine was hitting the inner chassis when on slow turns.
