Oil & Fuel hoses

Post by chrislandy »

Do the Aeroquip socketless / speedflow push hoses pass scrutineering for sprints (modified kit car and sports libre classes) without the oetiker clips? I read in the bluebook that any push fit connector must be clamped whereas reading the Aeroquip installation/datasheet for this type of hose warns that an external clamp will cause very premature failure of the hose.

I am just about to buy all the hoses I need for the fuel and oil system but I (obviously) don't want to buy a hose that will not pass scrutineering.

Where are you intending sprinting and with what club?

Best bet is to contact their scrutineer and ask the question.

A link to the clamps and clips would be helpful, for me :)

The Aeroquick socketless is pretty much the same system, working pressure of 250psi which is well below standard oil pressure and even fuel injection pressures.

as far as a club, I'm not a member of one yet but initially I would like to stay in the Midlands/South West/Wales areas as there are quite a few nice tracks/airfields this side of the country. From what I have read though, the car needs to meet "bluebook" standards
