turbo afr readings

just setting mine up 12psi low boost and 16psi high road boost.

Got it running it at 12.2afr on my innovate db gauge which feels good on the road.
Is this considered a safe figure?

no sounds spot on

recently moved my oil cooler to the front and fitted better intercooler and bigger turbo so hopefully charge should be a lot cooler .

have run over 20psi for short bursts and although it really pulled well it feels too viscous for the road/gearbox etc, so hopefully it should be fairly safe at 15-16psi as its only approx 8:1
Actually run 12-13psi on low boost most of the time though -shall probably try it on this for trackday or at least until later on in the day.

what afr was yours mapped at?

Just to clarify - You are checking with det cans or similar ?

Are you logging this with logworks?

nope only by ear and wideband afr meter
but its std ecu so hasn't got a silly amount of advance plus running on 99 octane pump gas

I map my scooby to 11.3:1 (at peak load) - but it is a totally different set up - not easy to compare and you shouldnt. I run roughly 30 PSI of boost.

Go with what is right on yours - as I said above, using a dyno is a great way to see whether it makes any more power at various afrs.

Knock sensors are largely unreliable and I certainly wouldn't want to trust an engine to one.

Might have a go at knocking up some det cans like yours 8) idea

so what does det sound like through the cans , do you get much noise without det?
