Post by Arron »

I have a friend who is handy with the welder ,

and my question to you guys is shall i chop the cats out and replace them with just pipe

keeping the standardback box and things ?

Only as a temporary measure.

Will it be way too loud or no diffrent any 328i track guys out there ?

IMO the noise of removed cats but with the standard box will still be well, well within trackday limits. My 328 with cats and standard exhaust measures a mighty 84db static at 4000rpm.

My deciding factor would be if i was planning on putting it back on the road at any point.

Well have an m3 evo and i went for the middle man.

Took it over to fast eddy he chopped the standard cats out and put in sports cats.

Best of both worlds sounds great anyone that heard it round snet yesterday and still fine for an mot.

Plus still on 93 db's so an all round winner.

cheers Barney
