Oil pressure sender units.

Post by 323ian »

I had a spare electrical oil pressure guage what i tried to hook up in the Silvia today.
I did this by cutting the sender wire which goes to the crap stock dash pressure guage and just installing it to the new gauge but the reading seems to be too high. (100 PSI on warm idle!?)
My question is do you think i have a fualty pressure sender unit or does the pressure sender unit have to be the one supplied with the guage not the stock one?
Thanks.

Ian,
I would think that the guage you have used is just designed to work on a different signal than the sender mate.
