Now by no means am i saying the wheels will fail, however i have seen a few cases in the USA where guys have had wheels powdercoated and the wheels have developed cracks in them shortly afterwards. One case the wheels failed after just 2 weeks of road use.

This was put down to the fact that the final process of the powdercoat is oven baking. This high temp oven baking was effectively changing the heat treatment that the wheels had already been subjected to from the original manufacturer.

Your call fella but certainly food for thought in my opinion.
Wheels should be done at a lower temperature so this doesn't happen.... pick your suppliers carefully, Aerocoat are fine

Bronze is nice but a little passe. I wanted gun metal for mine but didn't want a 12 week wait associated with it. If I ever get the GTR finished mine will be done in a different colour but no point hypothesising on that at the moment.

Powdercoating is fine on wheels as long as the shop concerned know what they are doing, but Frayz is correct, baking them too hot can make them brittle. Schoolboy errors aside I know of many happy punters in this regard. I have seen the work that Christians contact (ooer) has done and the rocker covers looked fine and dandy.

You should get them done in white with grey patches. That way it will look like you have done hard driving :thumb:

I like the Allegedly Stuart  have you been reading too many FIA F1 transcripts :?: :?:

For my Work wheels I was thinking graphite grey as a possible, but I am unsure. I also think maybe my white Rota would look awesome graphite grey but as they are in okay condition I probbaly won't bother as I am a tight Scot

Black .... black .. grey .. but not bronze .. that's for the commoners :)

Blacky, just waiting a price from Christian and now need to find some spare wheels :) - you would need to talk to christian, but I wouldn't imagine there would be a 'group' discount on them.
I have my track wheels that you can borrow Ben. If you don't mind the look of them that is lol. Or you can use the BBS if you like and I will put the AVS on mine whilst it is off the road.

the real benefit of spraying them is you can touch them up afterwards , pick a colour that you can buy a touch up stick for.

To follow on from that, my powdercoated wheels suffered terribly from a brushed kerb recently. If they'd been painted, i could have touched it back in, but as they were powdercoated, it cracks off in shards, a bit lit an egg-shell, the damaged area being far greater in size than you actually scuff.
The only plus side being the trader took pity on me and took the tyre off, dipped and re powdered it, and refitted the tyre for
