Depending on the weather yes. This is a grey area for me but i know the people who mix this stuff so i can get a 100 % yes or no. But from my experiance i keep the same batch and less than 48 hrs old.

TBH i would tune on fresh fuel. (try and get it on delivery date)

Try and race on fresh fuel. I only every use one source of fuel and batch add over a weekend and i nver have fuel problems.

I cant be 100 % on this i stick with what i know works for me. This makes it predictable..

I'd put a detalarm on the lawnmower if I were you :-D

Seriously though, we're talking small differences here. For sure, buy fuel as close to a race or trackday as you can and buy it from a station that has good throughput. Beyond that though, you'll always see some variance in pump fuel.

When I raced bikes it was commonplace to tune GP250 2-strokes to run on Avgas, but I've not heard of its use in cars (trackdaying and low key amateur racing at least). Similar RON/MON/AKI to methanol I think. Octane rating aside, it was regarded as more consistent than regular pump fuel with a similar price (whereas 'proper' Elf race fuel cost 10x as much). Supply was a bit tricky though, with airfields being choosy about who they'd sell it to!

Back on topic (for the first time) :D

How does Tesco stand against Vpower for loss of performance over time?

It was always suggested that Optimax went off and it was also possible to get a duff batch. Is Vpower more consistent and/or stable?

And Dunk, do you feel confident to map my mower? :D

Gerry - It is a secret but I am planning to launch a mower mapping business in the new year to pay for TA. It is an oft overlooked area of grass cutting performance.

back to topic [again]

I think it is a lottery as to whether it is a good batch bad batch or whatever, I will stick by the rule of filling up tanks and jerry cans the night before events - from my recent mapping on tesco 99 vs Vpower, I reckon vpower nudges it. But what do I know :D
