Hi there,

Does anyone have a compressor map for the VF-12? An expanded websearch didn't bring anything further.

Thanks alot for your help.

All the best,
John

VF12 is a piss poor turbo, possibly the worst turbo to ever grace a standard Subaru except perhaps the even poorer VF11.

Basically it has the lag of a vf23 with all the power potential of td04 on a bad day.

I wouldn't fit a VF22 however, as it's even laggier and most people will not have the supporting mods to make the most of it, although they can make some power shortly before they explode.

TD05 is the way forward.

Hi Pavio,

I agree, it's not the best turbo I have driven.

I assume that a turbo on a ride made by a company like Subaru is fine tuned on it's engine. That is why I need a turbomap of the VF12 to compare it to a new turbo to prevent a mismatching new turbo. I remember a course a few years ago, the engine specialist said that a turbo should have close the same boost curve (mass flow) like it's engine's suction curve. I dunno if a tuner has the same needs like a vehicle / drive engineer...

I have seen that there are different versions of a TD05. Which one you think will be good for my Suby Legacy 2.0 Turbo?

Cheers,
John

Hi Andy,

thanks alot for that info. Had no luck with a map of the VF12. IHI seems to keep them secret.

Cheers,
John

P.s. I have seen some new 16g's on ebay.com. Why is it "just" 269US$? Normally that's the cost of a new compressor wheel of a big and good turbo.
