~To back up my earlier comments here is the words from chuck westbrook. This guy is the rx7 power fc tuning god. He developed many of the top tuning ideas used on rx7's based on the power fc ecu. He has also writen tuning documents about how to tune power fc's to much aclaim

That's an interesting read, slightly marred/spiced up by the "cardzrule" retard :)

I guess from that topic, rotary engines are quite sensitive about their fuelling mixture - or does that just apply to the highly tuned engines the same as any other?

This is a very good reason why people with widebands should stick to using Lambda rather than AFR.

An AFR of 14.7:1 is only correct for petrol.

Lambda 1.0 is stochiometric for ANY fuel.

Most sensors work on lambda and the software converts to AFR for display purposes.

It has nothing to do with rotaries. All combustion engines have the same elements.

intake....combustion.....exhaust.......

the rotary has a moving combustion chamber. that is the only differance.

The port timing is the same as a cam. The rotor tips open and close the ports.
