Problem with the clutch/gearbox

About 2 months ago I had an Exaddy paddle clutch put in my R34. Now recently I have started to experience a few problems.

1. When ever I put it in reverse it crunches every time

Did you change the fluid at the same time? Did you get a new release bearing at the same time? When was the last time you changed your gearbox oil? Gary @ APtuning is an Exedy dealer so it may be worth asking him. (About the symptoms, not about the other things I asked

Yes new bearing and gearbox oil was done at the same time as the clutch.

Where is the clutch bite when you get the crunching behaviour? Close to the floor?

If so i think the clutch isnt quite lifting and is dragging a little. You ought to be able to adjust that out.

The other possibility is that the incorrect gear oil grade was used and when its cold its just that little bit off spec.

This is actually when i first put it in gear so the the peddle is flat to the floor. The gearbox oil is Millers so it should be good enough and I used the same oil in my R33 and had no problems but I might change it to redline shock proof stuff anyway.

The symptoms you are listing are the same as when my twin plate failed. I warped a plate - it showed itself as a really low bite point, was a bugger to get into first and reverse. To get first sometimes it was best to select 4th, then 1st.

If you're spending the money - get the nismo copper mix or the HKS GD Max instead.

I've still got my OSGiken sitting in a box - maybe one day i'll actually have it rebuilt but who knows.

I liked mine - but it was a bit agricutural - very much on or off. Wasn't town friendly.
