my dyno run

Post by jungle-jim »

i had my car dyno'd a few months ago....

i was told i had a faulty lamda sensor which was only switching every 4 seconds!!

the exhaust was stock except a decat.

i had no idea what boost i was running coz i thought i had it set at 14psi but the gauge doesn't sit on zero when the engine is off, so must have been the reading of 12.5 psi. with a GT28R bb type tubby.......

Image

clive also had problems getting her to sit on the dyno prperly due to the camber from having her lowered 30mm.

heres the vid...

the dodgy sensor results. note the drawing clive made to show what the wave should look like!!

Nice result for 12 psi :)

How come the power run stopped at 5800rpm?

Think thats where the peak power of the rover engine is.

You can see on the graph that the RR operator came off boost at this point and the power was still climbing!

tell me about it! the amount of times the box of tissues move in the rear parcel shelf is untrue!! :upyours:

edit... i forgot to mention the K&N filter with a heavily drilled box.

he stopped boosting coz the car wasn't sitting right, had the lamda problem and was suffering slight detting too.

LOL

I was gonna add the tissues thing almost exactly as you wrote it... "I bet the...."

Chap I know has a fully race prepped Maestro turbo with the T16 engine in. It absolutely leaves other cars for dust on track thanks to the way its setup. If you decide to go more down that route I can pass you his details if you like as he does alot of track prep for other people.
