My mileage is 51 and a bit thousand miles.
In 5455 miles I've serviced the car 3 times ! ... to the point that I did only 900 miles between 2 services .... think I got carried away.
Really been a problem free car, Abbey gave it a full health check and it passed with flying colours .. only thing they found wrong was a loose bolt on one of the turbo's .... apparently quite common that the lower bolts undo themselves.

Rotary engines need servicing every 3000 miles plus the additional top ups you do from time to time (not as bad as everyone says though!).
Put some Silkolene in and its 100 times better than the valvoline turbo oil I was using before, smoother running, less noise etc Definitely recommend it.
But I would wholeheartedly say do as much as you can yourselves on your car, it saves a whole load of cash. Although working every weekend with the car looking like its been taken from a scrap yard with very little interior left is a bit depressing. Plus the missus nagging about when its gonna be ready and not having to use her car all the time, isnt fun !!!
My tip is to order ALL the bits you need at the same time so you arent waiting on some of them to come.
Internet is a godsend for finding guides or tips on how to do the work !!!
I am happy to have a go at practically anything on the car bar an Engine rebuild. But luckily I have a garage to work in and leave the car half finished.
Used to think it was weird when going to Scotts (sdminus) and finding car bits in pieces on the kitchen table or a big pile of bolts on the floor in the garage etc Now its become the norm for me also !!!

royal purple oil
I have been looking at a web site called rotaryart.co.uk where they sell royal purple oils .we use RP21 if you buy 25 liters drums its free delivery .It works out about
Good idea. The only thing is I use R41 ( 8) ) and we would not doubt all have our own preferences. If we could get some common ground on grades of oil used, then we're laughing.
