Some of my past and current projects

Just recently I've started to get back involved with racing again so I thought I'd post a few pics of some of the cars I've built and worked on in the past, I've left out the golf for now to post up a thread later after its winter renovation ;)

This is the first race car I worked on, its a Superstox driven by Jason Cooper (current superstox world & european champion, & old school pal of Woody & myself). Its completely home built and powered by a 2.0 Ford Pinto lump through a p100 gearbox and a MKII escort derrived rear axle, this shot was taken at Mallory Park on the way to 3rd place :)

Whilst running the car above we also ran this Randall Chassis for Bee's Motors of Downham Market, driven by Richard Brown

This is the MKII home build chassis just back from powder coating and on the wheels. This is my favourite car because its the first car I had a hand in being built from scratch.

Here's a few shots of it in action, we ran the car for two years in the UK and a handfull of meetings in Belguim & Holland, its best result was 3rd in the World Championship but was disqualified for an engine infingment (machined valve seat). This was my low point as I built the engine as a spare from bits lying around the garage.

This is the MKIII Super built by HCD from ideas from us. We recieved the car as a rolling chassis and finished it off within 2 weeks.
Jason won the 2005/6 world championship in this car!

The MKIV car is complete and will race for the 1st time in the World Championship at ipswich tomorrow. The car is desgined by Dave Richardson (ex-prodrive chassis engineer). I've been asked not to post any pics up yet as the car's running F3 based inboard suspension, that no one outside the garage has seen yet!

As a bit of a sideline project I help run a couple of Legends Cars for a mate in the neighbouring village. The cars are imported from the states and run a 1250 cc yamaha bike engine. A Legend is quicker than a Formula 1 car in the 1st 100 meters!!!!!! (proven by Derek #8 @ the pod)

Sarah (Jason's sister) raced a home built fiesta hot rod last season and is currently waiting for us to pull our fingers out and finish her new supertox chassis!

Finally the least successful car I've ever worked on............
It never won a race or scored a podium :(

Great stuff Pike

those legends are superb, fancy bringing one to a trackday? Now, that would be fun. I remember going to the launch of the team Petronas car in London, a little press event I managed to blag my way into. Bit bizarre~ Mayalasian royalty and Phil Bennett in the same room. No comment

I don't know Jason mate, do you know which promoter he races for?

Phil Bennett wasn't that bad Stu, David Leslie was alot harder to get on with!!!!
Derek is interested in bringing a Legend to Snetterton next year, we might even have something a bit more spectacular in the pipline too

Very interesting - I never realised how advanced the frames were on the stock cars. It's funny seen them racing and never thought of what was involved to create them.

thanks for sharing.
