The Mugen Build (JDM DC2 continued)

Following my other thread, I,ve started on all the genuine mugen parts I have now. The side skirts are finally ready for paint, the mugen decals were wrong so had to order another set so that I have the right colours, and my mugen exhaust is ready to fit after ordering new gaskets and bolts. I hope to start repairing the front bumper soon and get this finished for the start of show season.

Not that I mind but any reason to split this thread from the other one Darren? Thought it would have been better to include the older posts and photos???

So big problems with the front bumper. Turns out its had a few previous repairs carried out to a poor standard and when I was sanding all the small cracks down, large chucks of filler fell out of the bumper
I,m going to have to use some more fibreglass to repair it so will take longer to repair but hopefully look great when its finished. Theres a possibility I may have to use the car as a daily to get to work so not sure how far to go with the build. Anyone used a dc2 as a daily driver??

I did for 18 months, Rob Callow and Safety James also (amongst others on here).
Very comfortable on 15s, quite unless thrashed, great driving position too......found the clutch a bit snatchy around town but nothing else to fault.
At least by repairing the bumper to your standards you'll have the peace of mind......and if it falls to bits on your driveway, you will also know who to blame

So after filling, sanding, filling and more sanding this is how the bumper looks. Its needs a final skim over with some filler but hopefully will be able to get some primer on it at the weekend.

Mate, with all that extra filler in the bumper, your car's fine tuned weight distribution will be hammered!!
I bet that's taken a few hours so far but hopefully you'll be rewarded with a good looking and tough bumper.

Fibreglass is quite light mate, plus the weight of the twin loop (have you felt how heavy these are?!) will balance it all out
