1996 Toyota MR2

Post by Daniel »

Well well well, as some of you already know I sold my truck last week and thanks to Mr. Staples with his keen eye I popped to Sudbury with dad and ended up coming home with this.

The car is in great condition for a 96 plate, and only 118k on the clock. :) This will be back up for sale in early/mid 2014 once I've found another job and found a blue T-bar turbo. :smash: So keep your eyes peeled if you fancy a summer run around.

Will update this a bit more, off to give it a through wash. :D

Looks like a tidy one mate,

Even though I know the engine is in the back of these it just seemed strange to see the spare wheel sat there in place of an engine, I'd never really thought about it before
[img] Q. If you were stranded on a desert island, who would you rather be stranded with....Ray Mears or Bear Grylls?

A. No question....Ray Mears....you could make a shit load more stew out of that tubby little fecker [/img]

Mate, that's not bad at all. With a few hours spent on tidying I can see big improvements in several areas already :D

Well done.

Looks nice and tidy. Still got the little camera mount you made up for the last one?

I can see where you're coming from, but I grew up drooling over Italian MR cars so for me a mid engine is perfect.

Cheers Stu, I have to say thanks for spotting this one. Never even saw this one for sale. I've given it a quick going over just to get 90% of the crud off of the body and it looks so much more better. The interior is now minty fresh. One thing I have noticed though is that the windscreen inside and out is really grubby and won't shift (inside condensates badly) Think I need to pop over sometime and have the Genie sort that out. :smash:

Cheers G. Just need to get a couple of bits sorted out first before we have a complete tart up.

It's a shame really, as you say there's a never ending stream of real dodgy ones. Hope I'm as luck when I find a blue one again. :)

Just a tad eh Matt. :)
Funny enough I still do, and I also have the REV 5 spoiler mounted one too.

Nice buy Dan, I think your Mr2 phase was before we met (you had the supra then) but having had an absolute hoot in one on an airfield day several years back I can certainly see the appeal and that one looks great.

as for the turbo, well I insist on a pax ride in that :) never been in one but they have huuuuge appeal (surprisingly considering how anti jap turbo I am :sifone:)

Nice one Dan. At least you know these cars well. Just remember not to start it in gear this time ok.
