Red wine and a laptop

You know how it is after a long week on a Friday evening to unwind you sit there with a few glasses of red wine laptop on just looking about surfing various websites just looking at nothing in particular....... well that was me ! it just so happens it was Friday the 13th too hadn't realised at the time !
Anyway Pistonheads happened to be the site of choice at the time and this is where it started.....Shed of the week !
Bloody hell really ? how much ? really ? thats cheap must be something wrong with it ! Or its sold already !
Text sent Hi Mate is the car still for sale ?
reply recieved "yes"
text send "ok will call you tomorrow for a chat"

Next day I call the bloke to chat about the Shed...he didn't even know it had been featured as Shed of the week LOL

Anyway these have alway been on the Radar as a bit of a Q car.... so arranged to go and look at the car on the Sunday as I have been considering getting something a bit bigger for work and just general lugging crap about.

Anyway off to Guildford with son Chris riding shotgun as if it was any good I would drive it back and chris could drive the current daily driver.. Turned up and yep it was a shed well it was inside it was minging.....outside not much better I had asked the owner not to start it as I wanted to start from cold to check for rattles or smoke but no it fired up and settled into a nice steady even straight 6 burble.... no smoke....all ok so far !

Was giving a a good look round and noticed the front pads were so low I was not prepared to test drive it which was annoying especially as it was such a long way away.

It was agreed that the seller would get the brakes done and as long as it drove ok I would have it as all it really needed was some TLC as it was fundamentally very sound.

So Last Thursday I had a meeting and survey on a customer site in South London so ideal chance to go to London (Company paying) and collect the car on the way back....

So thats what happened I got it and I am now the owner of a Shed of the week and here it is

As I said it is minging and Stu I have already hoovered it once and jetwashed it to get the initial crap out of it but will still need your magic touch.

It needs some cosmetic bits doing but the plan is to use it as a work horse and load lugger and occasionally suprise a few people at how quick a lumbering old estate car can move!

Hardly a shed in real terms though, is it? :D
Funny how we were both looking at these at the same time John; I had started to look at other examples and modified ones (facelifted front ends from R34s etc) as the example you bought seemed just too cheap and therefore too good to be true.

Looking forwards to getting stuck into this on Thursday John. Let's see what 8 hours hard graft and a van full of goodies can do

Yes John, but just thought i would let you know in case you thought the Stagea would be a cheap to run practicle vehicle.

My 260RS was more economical than one of the 2.5 autos.

They sound nice though. The RB25 is a good engine. More relaible than the RB26 in my opinion and from personal experience and others' experiences
