Thought i would post up a bit of a build thread, meant to do it a while ago but had to lay a floor and paint half the house for the mrs to ensure she doesnt question me spending money on the car to much.
Hope posting this is ok?

Anyways here goes , although not much to report at the moment however have repaired all the faults on the car, which although not serious was pretty bloody expensive.

As i mentioned before i have put some H&R Lowering springs on the motor and 18" RS4 wheels finished in smoked chrome.

I have Just ordered a full set of silicon hoses and am looking towards an exhaust then a remap on the performance side of things and also updating the centre console and possibly the seats.

Such an awesome car. What I love is the fact that it's an OEM+1 look. Which is always a winner. Can't wait to see more additions to this wolf in sheeps clothing mate

Yeah although I'm more of a Jap car man I really like this.

Fantastic looking car! And what a wonderful daily driver.
Are your wheels genuine items? The reason i ask is i want to change the wheels on my A6 from the horrible little 16`s to something a little bigger and had looked at the rep RS sets on ebay. But im afraid of spending out if the quality isn`t good?

The wheels are reps however appear to be very good quality and the finish is also excellent, I did manage to get some Poor boys wheels sealant on them which i can highly recommend. (Cheers rob & Chris )

I did look at genuine wheels however i read alot of reviews on both Audi SRS and audizine and as far as i can tell theres nothing wrong with them and loads of people have them on some very high power audi's.

It worth mentioning that i still have the original wheels which came with the car, they are shown in the pictures of the car when i first got it.
All four 18" have some minor kerbing damage and i was about to put them on ebay, but if you were interested then please let me know, i can sort out photos etc

They are reps also however 2 are RSTT style an 2 are RS4 style, a strange combination i know however it took me a while to spot the difference which is (essentially on the RStt wheel the inner bead continues around the spoke and on the RS4 wheel the inner bead fades out just over half way - if that makes any sense).

I don't know if you've done any research mate, but the original wheels had a habit of buckling, hence there are hardly any to be found.
I'd say that the ones that were on it when Andy bought the car are fairly tidy, but they need a refurb. A bit of elbow grease and some paint and they will look pretty much the same as the ones now residing on the beast.
(I did nt even notice they were nt a matching set, they a that similar)

Thank you for the offer Andy. I apologise for the very late reply. If im honest i was looking at new rep sets as mine now needs tyres. But as my time is so very limited at the moment to the point im not sure which way is up. I think im going to keep it simple and just make do with some new rubber for mine for the time being and change the wheels later on.

This weekend a few bits happened, finally took receipt of my RS4 spoiler, having held it up to the car unsure if i actually want to fit it might change my mind once painted if i can find someone local to do it for me. If anyone knows a decent reasonable priced spray shop either in herts or near Diss please let me know, i also have no idea what it would cost so any indication would also be appreciated many thanks.



This weekend i removed all the original cream seats, which although cool and some people thought i was mad they were not what i wanted, so had to go.

I spotted a set of Black B5 facelift Leather Recaro's on Ebay which failed to meet its reserve however i did some negotiating and managed to get them.

Thinking that the swap would be easy was my first mistake as i thought it would be a couple of bolts and then just plug and play.

My S4 however did not have Electric seats so after removing all the interior seats i began to dismantle the dash in order to cut into the main switched live under the dash and then removed most of the carpet to get the live under both front seats.

Having spend all day Saturday removing the seats especially the rears which I had to buy a extra long hex key moving it about 100th of a turn each time for the 8 bolts it took bloody hours. OK i did have about 10 cups of team and three packs of smokes but it helps me concentrate

Eventually i got to the point where the rears could go back into the car only to discover that they were from a saloon albit I was assured they were from an avant.

A quick search on the internet revealed my worst nightmares that they won't fit due to the fixing brackets.

However not to be easily defeated i removed the posts which hold the seats in place which are on the top right of the below picture.



Anyway eventually the rears actually went in and i am very pleased with the results although i had to sack of the centre seat belt but ive only got two kids so two belts in the back is enough





So feeling rather smug that i had got them to fit i then added the fronts to test out my wiring.

And would you believe it all works first time, nice smooth electric movement and im well pleased with the final result.





I actually don't mind the fact that the door cards still have Cream on as does the arm rest although i will be looking to change these at some point im not that worried about it at this time.
