How do's, new to the forum and thought id paste in my build thread, as ill probably be spending a bit of time on here now, as theres lots of good stuff and hopefully i can get some pointers on completing my future plans.

Previously had a Mk2 Octavia vRS 2.0TFSI which was pretty heavily modified, running a raft of engine and chassis mods and was an absolute weapon on track. I started to get bored of it as there wasn

Weight loss

With the basic power mods sorted on the car I started to work on some weight loss to build the power to weight ratio up a bit.

In the rear bumper Skoda bolted in ballast to limit over steer so I removed it from the car. Almost gave up as one torx screws was defeating me for about 45 minutes because I couldn

And me in the gravel trap at Yentwood

This is about 10% of the gravel that was there. Had gravel inside the subframe, brakes, calipers, suspensipn, undertra etc etc. Took ages to clean out

Last lap of the day that was for me there after easily 60-80 laps. They had changed the layout from a decent sized one in the morning to a much shorter layout in the afternoon, which became a nightmare as it was to busy, with VW up cars and caterhams on slicks. Either i was being held up or was holding someone else up, as a result, let a few cars past, missed my braking point and said hello to the only gravel pit:beatdeadhorse5:

Booked into Mallory Park on Friday to ruin the tyres for good, then ill start on the chassis, brake and tyre situation

Fair play
I've never heard anything other than excellent stuff about Jason and the guys at Pace and you certainly can't argue about that deal :)

I dealt with Mark Cullum pretty much all of the time. Is Jason the guy who deals with all the Motul fluids etc?

Cracking spec, and that's some power for a 1.4.

PS I like the look of the Leon in the top pictures, but I am a little biased.

That leon was lovely as well.

The best thing about this is not so much the power, but its delivery. The supercharger only works up until 3500rpm, before disengaging. The turbo works from 2500rpm to the redline, so theres none of the drawbacks off the turbo or supercharger only the benefits. And you cant tell when they engage/disengage either

Literally no lag at all in any gear.

Then theres the DSG. Its really short ratio'd and because you dont lift off the accelerator for gearchanges which are hugely fast anyway, it is never off boost when at WOT.

Ive got a set of performance targets i want to achieve before i go away for 6 months in may.

1st - 1/4 mile time down to 13.5seconds or below, which should be achievable as ill be running more aggressive settings with better cooling and less weight.

2nd - 0-60 of below 5 seconds. At Bruntingthorp which has a surface likea pavement, and it was damp i was manging consistent sub 6 second runs with a best of 5.6 seconds. Thats with the standard 205/40R17 Conti 2 tyres which are pants. Im going for some 215/40R17 federal 595RS-R semi slicks, so on a dry track with weight loss, and launch control should allow me easily below 5 seconds....i hope.

3rd - 0-100 in sub 13 seconds.

And to top it off, it is phenominal on fuel. 36-40mpg around town. 42-50mpg on the motorway, and omly
