E36 Shed

Right, so I have finally got my hands on the E36 325 from my brother.

It is freshly MOT'd but is somewhat of a shed at the moment.

He has done some rather dodgey fibreglass repairs on the front wings where they were holed through with tin rot. The exhaust is very rattly to say the least but I think it is just the heat shield. (not checked yet).

I have a set of TSW wheels to go on it with good tyres on them so that will be the first job after I put a new battery on it. Then I need to find the little rod that connects the central locking motor on the boot to the lock itself as this is missing. I also need to find some seat rails to enable me to fit my recaros into it as I really don't like the leather seats that are in there at the moment.

I did notice a bit of a problem yesterday when I took it for a spin after jump starting it, When I turned the headlights on it really made the engine cough and splutter for a second and then it was fine again. I need to investigate this aswell

This really does need to be a "budget" project as I have to spend the money that we do have on sorting the bushes etc out on the GTR ready for the MOT so don't expect loads of new shiny bits to be thrown at it :D

I will try and get some pics of the old bus when I have cleaned it up (inside and out).

Meanwhile........... Let the fun commence :driving:

They are brilliant cars when sorted, a nigh on perfect combination of revvy straight six and RWD, nice and simple too.
Good choice mate

Excellent choice Nik; I loved Betty more than any other car I've owned, and that is saying something. I probably have some spare lights (front and back) and various other bits, if you need anything. I won't tell you that I only cut up the custom stainless exhaust system yesterday after nearly three years with it off the car!! (Not the Supersprint one before you shit yourself! :D )

If you want to come and have a root through the shed where the spare bits are, you'll have to let me know

It will indeed be good to see me playing in a car again :D

Took the kids and grandkids out for the day today so no work on it today :( I did manage to scrounge a battery from my dad on the way home though so that is on charge as we speak. Lets hope that it is ok.

Thanks for the offers guys, I will most certainly check with you guys first before buying anything from anywhere else. :)

Roll on my next weekend off :D
