Right, thought I'd best do a wee thread saying what I've been up to over the last few weeks getting my Evo in some sort of form ready to do the 2010 Sprint season.

The car was in need of a few bits to get it up and running in a reasonable state, so I started buying up some bits, New bits purchased include:

Tein Monoflex with EDFC (way too hard with standard Spring rates!!!)
Corbeau Pro Series GRP seats
Rose jointed Drop Links
Ralliart bushes
Carbotech XP 8 pads all round
Hel Stainless Brake Lines and Motul RBF 600 fluid
Solid Shifter bushes.
Dunlop DZ03 Tyres - I hope these are as good as said....as they aren't the cheapest!!
Rays Gram lights 8.5" x 17"'s.

Other bits that I already had:

Alu Intake pipe with Battery relocation kit.
Forge Catch tank and -10 braided hoses and fittings.

s it stands the car is at our Friendly Evo specialist this week getting most of the above fitted. I 'd already fitted the Droplinks and Teins and EDFC (my hands are still broken from feeding teh wires through the bulkhead!!) Also fitted the brake pads and done a bit of sound deadening removal but have ran out of time to do it all as time is short at the weekends.

Also, Gary and Chris will be removing the SAS system and the Carbon canister.

When I collect the car on Friday I'm booked straight into Autotest for a geometry set-up, then get my new tyres fitted and I should be ready to roll for Sunday.

I'm hoping to be able to compete in the MLR series this year and see how I fair with my relatively modest powered car compared to lots of others.

I'll get some pics up of the car when I got get it on Friday.

Just hope all this makes a difference!!!:confused:

It will to your bank balance, but you already knew that :)

Nice write up and info Logan. I asked Gary about a carch tank but he said Evos don't breathe heavy, so I didn't bother.

Nice to see you persevering with the old girl Mr Black, I'm sure you'll give a good account of yourself against your fellow Evo owners in the MLR

Don't I know it...just totted up what it has cost me thus far....not good!

Yes, sure it's fine but I've had one lying about for ages and thought I might as well get it all on, every little helps as they say!

I'm like an worried relative waiting to hear if she'll pull through at the APT Surgery.....!!!

Pics on Friday all going well.

Ben, they aren't anything bling, just pretty normal 5 spokes but lots lighter than my Enkei's and wider!

Yes, came to the decision that I enjoyed the car, I know what the good and bad points of it are and I would be best sticking with it!

The MLR will be interesting as there are some serious cars....but hopefully with the right set-up and some sticky rubber and me removing my brain I can surprise a few of them!

I actually think that it's your brain that makes you as quick as you are :)

Best of luck. Decent, well chosen modifications; exactly what I would have expected.

Who knows, as long as it hasn't been frozen away over winter!!

Thanks, not so sure as the Teins are way to stiff and oversprung, ordered some softer springs to see if that makes a difference.

was tempted to go big brake kit etc but really i think the brembo's are fine for sprinting with correct pads etc.
