E36 M3 Evo dynoed

Post by Tommy »

I coincidentally got the chance to put my M3 Evo on the rollers last weekend. I've always thought my M3 was a healthy one because when driving it, it makes my 328 track car feel really slow and I've ridden in a couple of other M3s and thought how they didn't feel any quicker than my 328.

The E36 Evo often doesn't hit its quoted figure of 316 bhp (260 ish ATW) for some reason or other but there are some that do ;)

316.7 ATF and 261.7 ATW

Really over the moon with that result as I've been getting a bit nauseous with the money I've had to spend on the old girl over the last 12 months even though she's a low mileage minter. She WILL be tracked next year and I can't wait to dice against Chris driving our 328i. It's going to be interesting :D

Cheers Stuart. All in good time though as I still need to use it for road duties. I also have a new set of Bilstein PSS9 Clubsport coilovers to fit along with all new components e.g. top mounts, wishbones, tie rods, ARB links etc etc. That lot will be fitted 1st quarter next year.

Yes Tommy, they are great figures for one of these although we all know that they can vary from dyno to dyno, but like you say if it feels strong it is probably not far out.

Mine feels quick too and a potential buyer who came to see mine last year commented that it was quicker than others he had tested.

Like Stuart says as his car is very quick now, weightloss makes a huge difference with these cars, but it depends obviously what you want the car for.
