The Land Rover had to go and I needed to get something that would suit mine and Jo's lifestyle. Something for towing, weekend events and something with a bit of power, I looked around for a long time and found a GMC Savana 5.0 V8 that I think will do the job well. I picked it up on Saturday and drove back from Berwick upon Tweed (320miles) and I got out feeling as fresh as I started, It's a fun thing as well as a workhorse

I managed to get it up to 15mpg on the way back from up North but reckon it will average out at about 10mpg locally

I've looked at this sort of thing many times, mainly as a tow car for whatever I'm trying to drive at any given time :)

Knowing your keen eye for a bargain, I take it it was worth the trip mate ;)

Now is the time to buy, everyone is worried about the "credit crunch" and people are trying to offload the thirsty motors before it gets worse. plenty of room to haggle if you can find what you want
I took a plane from Stansted to Edinburgh which was only an hour then a train to Berwick which was a further 40 minutes anywhere is easy enough to get to now and the trip including flights, train ticket and fuel came to
