well i'v bought the car (another mk1 golf gti) and when i get back from holiday the work will begin, i have thought long and hard about this and cant wait to get started
it starts life like this

i'v been in contact with a guy who makes the berg cup style arches and front dam the same as this

and hopefully it will end up something like one of these

engine wise i plan a 2.0l 16v engine from a mk3 golf with the wildest cams i can find and a set of twin 40's , i did think about a forced induction engine like a 1.8t of g60 but that will put the car into a higher class so going to aim for under 2.0l n/a,
as much as i love my subaru sprinting i think it will be going which is a shame as its really nice to drive at the moment, if i can keep both then i will but unlikely

i already bought a set of coilovers for the mk1 and currently looking at cages/ fibre glass tailgate/wings/bonnet all very resonable priced eg: tailgate for

a lot lot less i want something simple but effective that is'nt going to cost the earth when goes wrong
i'v had many mk1 golfs over the years and love them and best of all in full road trim they weigh 850 kilos so i imagine that it will be pretty light when its done
i had a 1.9 16v stripped out mk1 a few years ago and it did santa pod in 14.something seconds which is ok for a fwd car, i would love to use the mk2 synco 4wd system but this involves a lot of work and im just not capable :?

quite excited about this :D :D
