As some of you may know ive brought stu's old bus (the Golf Gti) with the intention of heading over to the ring in Aug.

I need to get my arse in gear and get organised. Book tickets get insured etc.
The golf has been purchased by me and a friend who should be along shortly to introduce himself (barney) to cut cost as it got to be a cheap as chips, economy trip as ive got a nipper on the way but wanted to get this out of my system before the little one is born.

I maybe pulling in a few favours to keep the costs down.
Cheers for the offer from Nik for the tent i did pop down J's place today but missed you both.
Thanks to Gareth for the use of his car today so i could collect the golf.
Seem like a great package stu will have a good look round it tomorrow

Now to get a spares package together maybe a set of get ya home pads and a few odds and ends.

If its dry tomorrow i will be giving the car a good look over and putting my mark on it and giving it some loving in my usual manner. Its going to get a dam good clean and polish.

I started to strip the downpipe off tonight put the light beat me and one sheared of bolt.

Will stick up a list of things to do once ive had a good look over it.

This maybe short and sweet as i plan to sell on return if all goes well.

Just took the head off mine so had a good look and you might need to drop back of the subframe a little to get it to pass out. Would it come out if you had it over a pit?

Well no pics iam afraid as the mobile is bust.

Down pipe refitted, what a bloody nightmare of a job and what a nightmare getting a gasket ended up getting one from a vauxhall garage of all places after being let down by two local VW dealers.

Brakes stripped down. copper slipped and painted, then bleed.

Any loose wiring secured.

Levels checked and topped up as necessary.

Seat rail made up as stu is so tall i could not see over the steering wheel and had to raise them by 2".

Jet washed clay bared and polished.

Just waiting on a ball joint and its nearly ready for the road.
