Mk2 Golf GTI 16v bus(deceased)
After getting nostalgic after seeing Steves and Stuarts Mk2s I quite fancied another one. Alway has 8v'ers so wanted to try a 16v'er for a change. Found one on the fleabay going cheap and managed to win it for the princely sum of

Anyone we know ?James Breadvan wrote:The gentleman who drove it back for me decided to see how fast and for how long he could go in it on the A11 and blew the head gasket after 15 minutes of probably flat out 5th gear driving
Looks like a good project !! Will it replace the Type R ?

I hope it turns out to be a good project, I fancy a go at racing and hopefully wont end up at the back of the pack every time.
It's going to replace the Honda for a track car as it's too expensive to keep trackdaying. The engine is bomber but the rest of the car is typical british volume car manufactuer crap. Am selling it to buy a cheap runabout too.
This Golf will keep my interested until I can afford a really track bias car with no roof, windscreen, heater etc. I quite like the look of the Spire GTR as a winter build project.
