finally managed to get a date set with Andy.F to get my car mapped :o

Mods include

AFP/20G turbo (ported)
GT Spec II Headers
255LPH fuel pump
550CC injectors
Hybrid front mount intercooler
Apexi Induction kit
3" Straight through exhaust (with full decat)
Fuel pressure regulator with gauge

originally had a Apexi ECU + Apexi AVCR but have had a change of plans at the last minute (yesterday) im now going to go with a Simtec instead complete with launch control and antilag! with a map for normal road use (V-power) and a map for methanol, since the simtec comes with built in boost control the AVCR is for sale if anybody is looking for one

havent heard any bad things about the simtec to date thats why ive changed my mind and went for it as opposed to the apexi, the duel map is what sold it for me TBH, but since it comes with anti lag + launch control + a built in boost controller i decided to give it a go, just think about it the Apexi ECU i have now retails at 545 quid plus another 275 for the AVCR it actually works out cheaper going for the simtec than it does the Apexi plus i get all the goodies with the simtec too, Duncan if you want launch control + anti lag it costs an extra

im hoping for around 400BHP and 370LB/FT with the methanol map

or there abouts anyway, they say the 20G turbo is good for it with methanol

Do you really need launch control with a scooby, even with 400bhp. Just asking the question as i didn't think they needed it.

The only traction control i have is the 4x4 system on the car, a clutch and my right foot!! :D

The anti-lag sounds good though

with the diff fully open the RA suffers from quite a bit of wheelspin on launch, even still its just another toy for me to play with anyway, boys toys lol :-D :-D

Hope to get mine this week. Don't think I'll bother with launch control, I'll use my feet and bum for that :o

The appealing thing that the Simtek has for me, is individual knock correction on each cylinder and ignition cut on rev limiter. Two maps sounds nice if it's in with the price.

Dunk, say hello to Andy from me. :D Ace bloke, shame he's so far away.

And, you want to wind the diff control up into the yellows for launch, it cuts down on wheelspin. Just go to fully open once you're in third. Don't think launch control will help with wheelspin as it only limits the revs until the clutch lifts or you start moving, or some such arrangement :D

The next release of Simtek will have 8 separate map sets so you potentially could have all kinds of different maps set in there from what I have heard.

As for launch control, I think it would probably be of use to you Gerry with the sprints. For
