I must get this finished and on the road for next year or i am going to scrap it for parts!!!!!!
Made a few changes and now the winter is here i still have not chosen the turbo,s to run .
I have decided to stick with twins though,
I now have all the bits ready to go Just the turbo choice to make

Compression has been lowered by thicker head gasket and squish removal.

1 garrett 2860,s either -5 or -3
2 hks 2530,s
3 hks 2540,s
4 Apexi rh6, (as advertised by neeltec)
5 Custom build offered by Turbo Technics
6 Wait for new garrett ("out soon!!!!!") That sits between the -3 and -5

The other choice is the tyres But i will do a searchy on that.

So your car has all those parts listed and you are thinking of scraping it??

As a skyline owner yourself you will know that if i get it finished and decide to sell it, The sum of the parts will be more than i would get as a whole car. Possibly worth 12 - 14k to the right person when its completed as i hope to have a healthy 600hp.
If it never gets back on the road then its in many parts at the moment, and would make more sense just to give up and sell all the bits. Based on what i made from the shell of my written off r32 i estimate

The great thing about finishing the car in the early part of next year will be that this is THE best time to own and drive a GTR. There has never been a better time to be a GTR owner and with the new model, interest in the good 32's will increase.

Stick with it Jay. Get the turbos sorted, get the decent tyres on there and enjoy the damned thing.

PS- Who's doing the cage?

I know i should stick with it and i will, just having one of those off days today!!!!

Started with asking Suz to marry me and its snowballed :-D
As for the cage its a joint effort
Eddy is going to bend and cut all the bits to shape then my brother in law is going to take all the bits to work and weld all the flanges , mounting brackets and rose joints in place.
Not that eddy cant weld of course but Chris has use of industrial welding equipment and does it for a living so the quality of the welds should be spot on . (forgive the pun)
It will be bolt in as i am keeping the car for the road as well as track.
Oh and i bunged out for the proper stuff !!!! After the accident i am not takin any more chances with Suz,s life.

Jay,
Fully uunderstand where you are coming from mate.
The spec list you have already seems damn fine and with the right sensible turbos and get it set up well and it will be an awesome Skyline.

All the while i have been building my Skyline i have tried to keep the work manageable and not do too much at once so i can keep the project moving along.

I am not really sure what turbos to suggest to you as not sure what you are going to use it for but the T04Z gets great reviews for a single as it has a low spool up and gives good power but i am a twins man like yourself.
I am going to go for HKS GTSS's but your build can have much bigger twins like GTRS's.

Stick with it mate, i have got down with my car recently, costs me a fortune and i hardly ever drive the damn thing and it is now off the road for about 4 or 5 months for the winter!

I should probably add at this point my gratitude to all @ APT.
The spec list is pretty much down to the advice of the guys there and as the years have gone by, all the advice seems to have lead to a very balanced and capable engine spec. I knew nothing about skylines and pretty much followed Gary and Christian,s advice blindly. Not knowing if it was right or wrong, just that it was costing me a fortune. :lol:
As it stands they will probably also make the turbo choice for me (Given a budget this time)
I also feel a need to get it going to at least show something for all their efforts. And beleive me i have been a royal pain in the ass to them at times i am sure.
I am reluctant to spend any money at the moment due to the lack of a job (self inflicted i know but all the same) however that will change in the new year and the plan is to use it for the honeymoon :-D ( I love my future wife! )
Want to do Spa , Nurburgring and Ascari over the course of 2 weeks.
