Well here we go.
at the moment the mini is finished, but i still need more

so i've got some plans ahead for the little beast.
First off i'm happy with the wheels i have on it at the moment, but anything over 60 mph thrown into a corner only results in either a spin or fighting with car to keep it corrected, so i've bought myself a proper set of wheels for it.
pictured here below on the left, is one of the set of wheels that i have on the mini at the moment. They're 5j x 12" which has good flickablility, but not quite the grip levels i'd like (especially the fact that they're wrapped in the budget Falken road tyres. cost

Now, because i've insisted on buying these huge wheels, i need some beefy arches to cover them, since it's a road legal racing mini.
i did buy some arches called 'Group 5' (pictured below) which are basically 70's-80's works arches, but when offered up to the bodywork...

sod it, too narrow by a good 1 3/4 inches :x (note, i bought these before the proper wheels  )
so to counter this, i've bought even bigger wheel arches which are know as 'Miglia arches' (pictured below) these'll definately do the trick. as used to cover 8j x 10" so no question about it.

Nice looking wheels - I am sure they would be a nightmare on the road due to the additional bump steer but on track they should work a treat.

Cheers,
yeah i'm quite used to the bump steer :-D my mini7 suspension is set on track mode. it's bloody deafening, hot, feel EVERY bump, uncomfortable...
but i love it

the handling on flat roads or b-roads is great, it's only slow paced town driving that's a pain, as i'm sure a few fellow Thetford members can testify too, especially station road and abbey farm :!:

ah, i nearly forgot. this is what my mini started off as;
not nice eh :?
so, moving on....
next plan for the mini is to get that gear linkage leak sorted. Which means getting under the car, taking the linkage selector off, using a pick tool, prise the wiper ring off, then fit a
Arches arrived! engine taken apart

Nice work.
Cutting the front off makes it so much easier to work on. I didnt go quite that far on mine, only cut the front grill off and welded it to the bonnet.
This is making me want a Mini again.

Yeah it's going to look great and change the handling totaly

and it's fantastic having a removable front, especially today after ripping the engine apart and changing heads
