The season is going pretty badly TBH. I think i am 10th over all out of 25 drivers. Its hard becasue i have to start last for my first season.

I have had loads of mechanical breakdowns. I put pushed off by a few guys in the wet. The last race weekend i had a big accident into turn 1 at beccles. It was caused by 4 karts coming together. They collected me on the out side of the turn. The accident bent both track rods and stubbs. It has also twisted the chassis badly ( cant notice by eye ) It is twisted left to right by 50mm and is short on one side by 9 mm.

The engine is a Rotax MAx SNR. Driect drive. I paln to test on friday if i can get away from work.

10th isnt too bad if you are having to fight your way up through the field, but obviously your aspirations are higher and quite rightly so 8)

The new kart looks the danglies and will go well too.

10th was my ambition for the end of the season. The reason for my negativity is down to the way i have done and the hand i have been delt so far. The first race was a complete nightmare. I got knocked off on the first lap. The following 3 i failed to finish due to broken bits. So far i have never managed to put all the bits together for one reason or another.

With some luck and this new machine i should be able to put all the bits together and get the right result. I have put in so many hours of practice and tried many differant things. I am now starting to find my legs and get comfy in my own style. in a typical race weekend i put in about 150 laps in total. This depends on the success of the sessions and the object of the session. I usually put in at least 60 laps on the saturday but it can be as many as 100 when things are going well. After a weekend you can really feel it physically. I come away very brusied and sore. It usually takes a week for the bruises to go.

Its very hard to get all the things done in 1 day of testing but you have no option. I usually run through a set program

- setting up the fueling and getting the mixture spot on
- getting the correct gear ratio to give you top end and push out of the bends
- Setting the chassis up (very very time consuming) this will include setting the front middle and rear torsion bar stiffness, Weight distribution, Rear axle stiffness, Rear track width, Front track width, COG, Toe angles, Caster angles, Camber angles, Front height, rear height, set tension etctetc
- Tire pressure analysis

i can imagine the set up of the chassis to be the most time consuming part from just having limited adjustability on mine and the massive effect each small change can make. Then to try and judge each one against a clock at a time when you are still effectively learning the kart, track and style must be near impossible to ascertain whether a change has been good (quicker) or bad( slower) or somewhere in between that allows defensive aswell as agressive driving or overtaking.

Hats off to you :thumb:

I cant wait for our next karting event - love it :D
