Some of you know I have been battling to get the parts I need for my Celica GT4 ST205, mainly from dealers in and out of the country and was worried i was going to end up having to take the Avensis to germany again, not that it didnt do to badly (10.30 for a family car is not out of order), which I really didnt want to do,, I wanted to get out there and have some proper fun,, things were starting to get to me with not having a car to take.. but last week a good friend of mine saw my dilemma and cut me a deal,, if I went and picked a car up for him and gave him my old turbo and manifold, he would donate me car that i could sort out and get ready in time,,, not quite what i was expecting, but what a challenge.. He had this old Celica GT4 ST185 laying around in his garage thats been sat there for a year with a totally shagged engine and turbo,, bodywork was okay but needed some major attention to get it going,, so with 2 weeks to go i have managed to rip the engine, gearbox and turbo out and rebuild a fresh engine and turbo out of all the spare parts laying around the garage.. within 4 days i had the bloody thing running,, next the mot to see how much i missed,, but to my surprise the MOT tester went right over the car and the only thing it needed was a slight adjustment on the offside headlight,, I couldnt believe it,, so as soon as i got out of the mot station i went straight up to the postie and taxed it,,, 4 days later its racked up 400 miles without any glitches and with still 5 days to go before we are all off to germany,,,, Many thanks to Stu for the loan of the trailer which got my mate new car to him,, Thanks to Tony B for the parts hes helped me out with, and a big thanks to my mate Brian who has helped me no end with parts for the car and other things too  ....... This whole project couldnt have gone better with so little time left.... For a car that is 17 years old and took 5 days to strip and build, and sail through an MOT so easily................. it could only be a Toyota  Once again thanks to all the people who helped out here,,, perhaps my 40th birthday wont be so bad afterall

Stuck in an old workshop for a year,, this is where i started...

I know full well how hard Dave has worked to get this ready on time. He makes engine swaps, nicking the bottom end off of one car and the top end of another sound easy.....it really isn't. Not when you factor in the time and money Dave hasn't had.

The new car looks superb and sounds great. I'm the 10'30" will get smashed into touch but more importantly, I'm sure you'll have a great trip in your other GT4 (Flash bastard ;) )
