Very nice mate and noticable very subtle. Is that the original plate as if so was an ex ford demo car. If not you've got yourself one of the very first saph cossies.

Cheers bud, the exterior is pretty much finished now. The only things that will get added are clear side reapeaters, and the strip under the lights where the wipers used to be for a plain one. Then maybe an RS500 splitter.

The plate is original yes bud. I am not sure if its and ex demo car or not, i guess i should do some digging and find out really. The old girls only done 83k from new.

Right time for a bit of an update.

This is how the car looked a day before Central day:

This is how it looked 6 days later:

What happend was when mapping the car and taking the boost past 22psi it started to DET badly on No2 piston. Boost was capped at 17psi[11psi less than it will run]so felt very slow to me but still faster than my mates FRS that was running around 280bhp, so i am guessing its around 310bhp. Still enough to sit on the arse of an Evo 8 FQ330 without any trouble.

What you cant really see from the pics are indents on the top of No2 piston. We think this has been caused by the tip of the spark plug comming off. One of the exhaust valves has a chip out of it aswell that i forgot to take a pic out of.

Image

The bores pretty much fucked aswell. But after i noticed whats in the next pic it didnt really matter. How i havn't noticed this by now is beyond me  It must have been done a good while ago as its been painted over when the engine work was done :wall:

Image

Oh and my 'WRC' head gasket turned out to be a bit more like Partco

What has surprised my missus the most is how chilled out i have been about it. She doesn't know it but its down to her putting me in a fantastic mood i have just taken it in my stride so far.

A good few people know who built this engine and i am sure its mentioned in the thread somewhere, i am not saying anything i will let the pics do the talking. I know the car was sold the week after it being on there stand at a show aswell so sure nothings been tampered with it after it left them.

I am not saying any more on the subject as it's not going to help get it sorted.

As for where i go from here, i decided to not bother fucking about and just built a whole new bottom end. I have a new block, pistons, and all the bearings etc. i will reuse the crank and rods as they are Forged as standard and in good condition. I ordered everything today and have sent my sump off for big winging.

Ahmed should only need a day to finish the mapping once its back together and run in. This should do me for 12-18months and i will sell it on after that so i can build my ultimate engine.
Thanks Nash
