My scooby is mended

What a busy two days ive had. On friday i finished work and took my scooby of the road for and engine change i started to take the engine out at 6:00pm and had it out and on the stand by 8:30 ish. that was the old engine out :-D
I had the new engine sitting there already but the new engine had all the anciliries still on it but i wanted to run my manifolds and injectors, alternator and things like that so i stripped the new engine down to a bare block.
Then a friend of mine who is a subaru trained mechanic came round today ( saturday) and put all the bits from my engine onto the new engine it saved time him doing as he does them all day.
At the same time the new engine recived a new cambelt, cambelt tentioner, plugs, oil filter and oil and all new copper washers and rubber seals for the anciliries. He then went to fit my existing turbo and to our horror there was hardly anything left of the compressor blade
but luckily we could just use the one that came with the new engine as it was in very good condition. He started swapping everthing over around 1:30 pm and after sevrall fag and tea breaks the engine was done and removed from the stand and was hanging nicely on the engine hoist at around 4:30 pm. He gave me a hand to get it located in the bay then left me to it and at around 6:30 ish it was finished and ready for the key to be turned. It wound over quite a few times but as soon as the fuel got up it fired into life :-D :-D .
So all in all im happy with the work done so far and the engine feels more responsive then my old engine and hopefully this engine will last a bit longer
cheers
Martin :-D
