after the success of building my first bumper ive decided to build another one for the track car
started off with a standard xr4x4 bumper and a wrc escort cossy that got off ebay for 99p, BONUS

this is how far i have got today
2 intact bumpers
Image

cut top off cossy bumper
Image

check the fit to 4b bumper
Image

cut the bottom half of the 4b bumper off and married up to the cossy and screwed together.
Image

next put it on the car just to see how it might look.
Image

next stage is marry the corners up flush then to potrivit all together, get the filler out and smooth over were the joins are.

weather permitting more work tomorrow and a update.

Your aptitude for taking an angle gringer to things and getting away with it is superb :thumb: That last pic..............it may be a bit too low mate, it's touching the concrete

right after another busy day, done some more on the bumper not as much as id like because had to fit the exhaust back onto the track car. so this is what i have got done,

one corner of the bumper.
Image

after some cutting got them lined up,
Image

potrivited the two bumpers together and put it on the car again
Image
Image

ground out the bottom vents to allow better air flow and less resistance
Image
Image

now its all together next stage will be to fill in the joins and get it smothed off ready for priming :D

Nice work there chap, know the feeling of achievement when it`s all worked out. Are you going to take a mould of it when it`s finished then make one totally out of fiberglass?

Good in theory, but I always found it was heard to sell them on again, especially if they aren`t a famous make. Good idea to take a mould in case you prang it.

another week of some work on the bumper and its not coming out to badl so far

corner before the filler goes on and at the front
Image
Image

slap the filler on and smoothed it down
Image
Image
Image

sprayed on some filler primer to find any imperfections
Image
Image

gave the bumper a rub down and sorted the little nicks out and then primed the bumper
