With just over 5 weeks till Ford Fair still got a lot to do to the car to get it ready. One of the main jobs still to do is sort the gearbox out. Ever since Snetterton last year when Alan turned 3rd gear into a disc we have been dicking about with a spare box. We have finally agreed on the way forward. Next week all the gearbox internals including a new 3rd gear will be going off to be treated.
We're having the gears treated with a 'Deep Cryogenic Treatment'.

I have read some info on the cyro treatment and it can be a good way of increasing the strenght and durability of gearbox's and other mechanical parts ,if ever got near the 600 hp rating of mine ( unlikely) then i would probably have it done . I read about a guy with a Nissan pulsar who kept grenading box's until he had the unit treated and then suffered no failure's , so good luck with yours . Pete
Just out of interest, how much does it cost to have this service carried out?

Thats the company i read about although i thought they were from Suffolk , bad memory as it must have been 10 years ago since i read about them . Initially i thought it sounded too good to be true but it does seem to work and improve the life of metal parts , doesn't look too bad a price either . Pete
The arches look OK mate........not a huge fan of the blue bit in the bumper aperture but the wheels look nice.......offset may need a boost now. This modding never bloody stops
