Sanded the casting lines out of the inlet runners today as was wet and cold so thought I would hide inside for a while. Just waiting on parts now.

Just brought a spare engine and gearbox to do a rebuild. Only wanted the engine but he didn't want to split. It was cheap so will sell the other parts on. Got to decide on the spec of the engine but a moderate build will make a very safe 1000bhp engine. All I want is 600bhp which I hope to get with a smaller pulley on the supercharger combined with the engine build and head work. My guess is I'll fall short of it though. All depends on what compression ratio I go for, standard is 11:1 so my thoughts are either stay as I am or drop to 10.5:1. As Gary is doing the mapping I trust him to do a good job on either of the compression ratio's.

A very safe 1000bhp?
And what capacity will you be building this to Matt? I know nothing about the tuning aspect of these engines; does any bother taking the engine to 2.2 or whatever?

Yeah it will be a 2.2. Honda did them as 2.2l in the USA and Japan after 2004 but lowered the redline to 8k lots more midrange. With a built engine it's still safe to rev to 9k. The company in the states I might use are Honda specialists and with their internals it can be reved to 11k but not advisable. Just done for mis shifts. 9.5k is fine tho but I will limit to 9k.

I think 1000bhp is more than enough. Just means it will last a long time.

I have ordered Hi spec brakes for the car, fronts will be RR132-6 335mm x 30mm thick and the rears will be the ultralite 2 320mm x 20mm thick with DS2500 pads all round. Hopefully have them in a couple of weeks. I did want to go for there new RX132-6 front caliper with 32mm disc but it won't fit behind my wheels......actually no where close.

I got my new tillett seats today and they are simply amazing. I had to make some custom brackets to mount them to my replica buddy club rails.

They are so comfy to sit in and so much lower than my recaro's, probably around 1.5" lower.
