Both easy enough to apply and they make protection and maintenance much easier :)
Stu

I'm not so much concerned about protecting them I just don't know what colour to go :-)

Yeah, but your stated concern with gold was that they'd be difficult to keep clean; both of those products help to repel dirt and dust, whilst leaving a finish that can be wiped clean :)

My vote would be as they are currently painted but it's your money and your car mate.......

Yep gold always looks nice with any car but Chris has his, mine are bronze. Something different would be nice ;)

Popped over to see a mate of mine today at Snetterton who is racing in the BMW racing at the weekend and thought as I was there get the Sexy Rexy noise tested. ........ as I guessed even with a silenced midpipe and baffle insert I was still at 107db @ 5.5k rpm he did laugh as he said he could hear me drive down the paddock and I would definitely fail the drive by.......tell me something I didn't know. ....
Oh well a rethink required on the exhaust is an absolute must now.
Oh and I took my work colleague with me today and let's say there were a few expletives oming from him.....mental....loud... but he did love the sound of the wastegate chattering. ....

Think Dom had the same issue. Do you have an external wastegate?

Chris the wastegate is fed back into the exhaust downpipe.....my mate said he saw you struggling out on track last night....he did say its a lovely car though.

Stu I would guess it was 130db+ as I said at the time it was very very loud. .....
I am goung to get a big fat baffled backbox with a down turned tailpipe too.....I do like a car to make a bit of noise but there is a limit and I'm clearly still well over it

Jesus @ 130db my gran children can hear that! - I havent even got any kids myself yet!

My car had a silenced mid pipe on it when I got the car but the silencer was quite small (I think I was around the 115db mark) so I got a new pipe with a much bigger silencer as I wanted to keep my backbox. Now 95db @ 6k rpm. I have had to plumb the waste gate in which is a right shame it really did howl when it opened!

You know what the condition of the packing in the silencer is like? If its broken down with the heat it wont be as effective.

picture of the size of my mid pipe if thats any help...
