hi trev,

just been reading through your journey so far and you've defineatly had a mixed fortune with pulsar ownership!!

am i right in thinking that you fitted the 298mm discs to your motor as opposed to the 310mm jobbies?

if all goes to plan then me, you and rayman could all be at snetterton for the 18th july, so would be good to see how each car goes with our differing specs, but hopefully we'll all meet up before then in ipswich or somewhere?

cheers
ian

i fitted the 285mm discs as i wanted to keep 15" rims, yes would be good to get a few pulsars on track,
sadly im thinking about selling my grey one and concentrating on the black project, but who knows i change my mind like the wind

and yes will be good to meet up somtime soon im only 15 mins from ipswich, just need to find a time when all three are on the road together

well sad news :( i sold the grey gtir think i sold it to cheep the guy gave me the asking price
anyway time to move on having two of them on the drive is just madness as i rarely use the grey one, so the black one will be a dedicated trackcar, the reason im going to be using the black one is there is no sunroof, i loved the grey one but with the sunroof there is not a lot of headroom when you got a bash hat on , im still deciding wether to get it road legal or not, think i'l have to just incase i need it

was going to start a new thread but carrying on with this one will do,

i spent saturday stripping the interior and was overwhelmed at how much there actually is in a car, aircon has already been removed,

4pots are being taken off the grey one before its picked up so there going on, also front upper strutbrace, black 15"wheels to be removed aswell

also on the look out for a rollcage if anyone knows who would fabricate one for a reasonable cost

picked up 2 bucket seats with sparco harneses from ebay for next to nothing

as for the engine im unsure what to do , the money from the grey one will be ploughed into this, i had the bright idea of importing forged rods/pistons etc from the states and rebuilding it myself , but im not sure if i have got what it takes  would be very intresting and love the thought of doing it but in reality i know i would run into problems and end up costing me more  im not ruling this option out yet
option 2 would be to buy a good second hand engine and slip it in
option 3 drop the car off to someone and pick it up when its all done

whatever i do i want to get the car up and running as soon as possible

yes sold the grey one ,, has not been picked up yet due to having to change the private plate and put standard brakes back on etc.. and yes it had forged internals, not sure what route to go at the moment with the black one , wether to get it rebuilt with forged goodies or just put a good second hand engine in as im happy with a little over 300 horses

told you 15's are the way to go :thumb:

probably be a while before im on the road again in a pulsar :(

well picked up another engine today from west london (grrrr traffic) thats done 65k always been limited to 112 and standard boost (apparently)

just need to get it fitted now, along with brakes/ seats/fmic/boost gauge/boost controller/blue silicone water hoses/ sort out a fog lamp/ get the horn working all ready for an mot

things i need to find now are a decent suspension set up including a whiteline rear swaybar,
rollcage ( not the easiest thing to find for a pulsar)

ditto to that, its alot easier to rewire the 'inner' lights on each side of the cluster that worry bout fitting an aftermarket lamp, plus it looks alot neater!!

cheers dave if i have a problem i'l give you a shout, i already have a live running to the back for a fog light and a dodgy looking switch on the dash just no lamp, and i agree does look a lot neater using the inner brake lights
