With the amount of torque that this thing has I would imagine changing gear is pretty much optional......sling it in third and enjoy everything from walking pace to 130 :D

A wonderful pair of cars mate. Good luck to you.

Had to laugh " just sling it in third" or i could have just left the auto in , the auto was ok just lazy and i need to be doing a bit more than the one arm out the window and one hand on the steering thing . It goes best between 3K and 5K or all the way up to 5.5K if i really want to get on it . Theres some evening TDs at Snetterton coming up and i cant wait to try the new box out on the track . Pete

Have been messing about with the front suspension to see if i could get the chevy to turn in a bit better , got brain ache from reading up on Ackerman and stuff . So i put in a touch more camber and shimmed the steering arms which handily bolt on to alter the Ackerman point , so that the inside wheel turns a bit more in the corners . The popular thing in the states at the moment is to blow 5k+ on a new front subframe with C5 Corvette bits on it , but i dont have 5k burning a hole in my pocket plus you still have a live rear axle . The Camaro,s front suspension can be altered quite a bit to get it to work better and get away from the understeering ride friendly factory setup as its mostly nut and bolts plus shims and what isnt bolted i dont mind taking a grinder to . Iam doing an evening track session at Snetterton tommorrow and cant wait to see if these little tweeks work . Also put in some better seats as i tend to slid about on the old ones which isnt great when trying to change gear . Pete:Chevy_anim:

Woke up at 5am a couple of days ago and was surprised how light it was .
Had fun and i think a bit of good luck as well , i will do a bit of a write up on the 14th June thread . I forgot to add to my update about the weight savings i have made . firstly the seats got rid of 15 kilos and the gearbox swop has saved another 5 kilos , it would have been more if i had gone for a smaller clutch . I also noticed that when i was setting up the front suspension that the right side rear sat lower than the left , this was caused by the large battery i mounted in the boot . I was amazed to find that it weighed 3 and 3/4 stone nearly 24 kilos , so i found a smaller battery that weighed 16 kilos and fitted that . So thats about 28 kilos or 60 pounds in total which isnt a huge amount but better than a kick in the nuts . Pete:Chevy_anim:

Having had a noise problem at Snetterton i thought i should have a proper go at cutting the exhaust noise down . I didnt want to hack the exhaust system to bits or change my existing silencers so i decided to cut the tail pipes off a make something up that fitted in their place . there was enough space between the rear leaf springs and the body work to fit a small silencer , so once again i went in to work to use the facilities and made some silencers up . I was pleased with how they turned out and they actually cut the noise down a lot . The only problem now is that i can hear how rattly the engine is. Pete :Chevy_anim:
