Trev firstly thanks for the use of your trailer to pick all this up thanks again.

The red one is staying as standard looking as poss as i wont this to be a fun alround car As for the grey one might just pick the cage out carefully and sell on the rest, but don't know yet.

Little update on the golfs progress to be ready for the august trackday have fitted the larger front antiroll bar which was a bitch to change.

Have fitted the vw motorsport lower wish bones with the spherical joints they are a little noisey beinging metal on metal also fitted the front hubs from the grey golf as had a slight wheel bearing noise from the others.

also fitted rose jointed gear linkage which i had no idea how the hell it all worked when it was on the floor until i started taking the old one off.

was a bit of a cow to set up as there is not a lot of tolerence a 2mm twist on the main bar would put 3rd and 4th where 1st and 2nd where and first where reverse was but got there in the end.

And today got the cage fitted once i had finished painting it during the week from black to white i only had to weld two brackets to the floor to bolt the main hoop to the floor and then welded it to the a +b pillars useing the brackets from the race shell.

and last would like to thank my helper for the day

so next on the list seats , harnesses going to fit a set of disc's and decent pads change the brake lines and fit braided to the calipers. Fit the new gaz coilovers when they arrive.

fit the rear beam from the race car with new rear calipers weld a rear brace in across the turrets
So lots to do

all the best mike

I love the way the carpet covers everything........like a posh track car, even when it's 3/4s stripped. For a basic bolt in cage, the quality looks nice and there's certainly nothing wrong with the fitment. Who are you insuring the car with Mike (Mods declared? Don't worry, this is a private members section, so you can answer without fear of compromise) Currently speaking to my broker about the amendments planned for Grace......

Just remind me what you bought for the radiator related work? I seem to remember you bought a new waterpump too; was any of this stuff uprated or all new OE?

GSF eh? Standard bits mike?

Insurance

Keith Michaels
Richard Eggar (used to be Competition Car Insurance)
I'm with my local broker for Grace at the moment, but that may change once some of the 'bits' arrive. Quote BigPower to the two firms I mentioned for a slightly better price. Gary Moulson is our contact at Keith Michaels.
