1st part of qualifying, lap after I got fuel surge out of the hairpin so had to pit for fuel :(

It is annoying, and carrying all important extra weight around the track.

I drove down in convoy with team mate Neil, following his R33GTR. A detour to try and find a shell garage but was unsuccessful, this would cost me later!

Once we had arrived I prepped the car, setting the suspension and tyre pressures, when I finally got a pit hand, Paul, past the tards on the paddock gate he set about adjust the roll bars to see what effect they have.

With a hot lap time from last year of 56.1 secs, I set myself a target of a 54 sec lap. A tall order but thought it may be possible with the right set up and getting a clear lap, when the tyres are fresh.

Out for practice and manage a few clear laps although the tyres are gone after 2 full laps, but I keep out trying some different lines. Paddock doesn

This is the dissapointing bit.

The camera kit I have doesn't hold charge well so needs a 12v USB for the media recorder to work.

Guess who forgot the USB lead :x

One of the few places I don't get overtaken and cutting through traffic myself.

next time.....

I've dropped the car off with a list of things to do including:

1. Wider wheels/tyres
2. Rolling arches
3. Fuel Surge prevention
4. Reseting ARB's
5. Check wheel alignent and some more camber up front
6. Oil cooler fitment
7. possible replacment of rear brake braided hoses
8. Brake stopper
9. Gear linkage bush
10. Invstigate rubbing noise on rear brakes, possible rear pad wear.
11. Rob some unsuspecting person to pay for above:)

3. Was toying with the idea of foam baffled tank but maybe PITA to measure up and there must be a reason why most seem to be using swirl pots instead.

10. Only done 4 track days now with these pads DS2500's on rear, but look quite worn, the inside of the disc felt scored but we'll see when its inspected properly.

1. These have arrived Image

and the new rubber, just requires 2. to get them on.

10. Has turned out the rear outside pad was completely gone, which explains the rubbing on the way home, so new pads needed on the rear, was going to get Pagids instead of Ferodo (which came with the calipers) this time

Brief update,

No pics unfortunately.

Wheels are on, arches rolled accordingly, wheel spacers on the rear. Rear pads replaced, wing mirrors replaced. Studs done. Oil cooler is fitted - awaiting pipe work. Still awaiting longer rear braided hoses for brakes and pipework for fuel surge kit. Open to suggestions as to where to mount the swirl pot/pump. Was thinking easiest would be in the spare wheel well as that would be easier to firewall. Could do it all in the engine bay but tight for space and fuel heating up may be a problem then.

Also need to get some clips/securing device for boot.

Still to do but no cash is:
Lighter windows
Heated front screen/strip heater matrix
More power - awaiting a spec and costing on this

I won't be picking it up until day before the finals of Time Attack event, and thats after a long haul flight so will be completely ball-bagged.
