Some learned gents from a background of Leons have pointed out, with the help of some pictures, that it is the right height for a non lowered car. The "R" effect comes from the side skirts and deeper spoilers/splitters.
I was nt convinced till I saw the photo's.

When you see them like this, it certainly made me realise it's not a red over inflated giraffe, it's missing some skirts :)

(The real bonus is the front splitter is

Bit of a mixed day today.
Missed the side skirts by a couple of pounds on eBay, which was a real pisser.
I don't really want to spend

Looks good mate. An easy fix with the bump strips is more paint. When I bought the SEAT paint from Halfords I made no mistake but Halfords later recalled the paint as it was the wrong shade! Apparently they have this sorted out now.

I've got some Flash red so if I get the skirts as hoped I'll get busy :)
The pictures don't really do it justice, the price you pay for finishing it in the dark!
I can get a few more bits once the RFX sell, and I've still got some money from a previous sale, so if I can source the bits to lower the car physically, (I'm really happy with how it handles) ie skirts and splitter, then I can look at other ways on improving the car.
I'm way too smitten with this cheap, old, high mileage car!!

Delighted to hear it :) I loved a lot of things about it......you're making some nice progress now and skirts, splitters, a drop and then some acoustics will do it no end of good. Not exactly expensive to muck around with either, which helps.

If I can get some cheapo, I can use the money for Marham!!
Besides, I'm servicing it at the weekend, god knows what I'll find as it's not been serviced since you said it needed one last year :)

I'll get some wax on it over the weekend, and I might even stray up to Braintree for some bits :)
