Hi Dave, Peter certainly knows his stuff!
He sounded almost disappointed I was nt going the carbs route, bless him:)
Should be interesting to delve into this a little deeper, as he was saying the fixed fan vs an electric fan he has dyno'd at over 10 BHP different :svengo:
Guess what I'm going to be looking for now?
Fan
Injection head
Megasquirt and similar
Newman Cam......what can possibly go wrong?:cheers2:

I'll be under the bonnet tomorrow checking to see if mine is viscous or "fixed", I take it you have some in the spares department you call home? I reckon you've got enough to build another car mate!!

im sure i have a 2.0l dohc fans in pauls shed or you can refer to them as "cosworth" fans on ebay:D

you dont know how right you are mate about the spares we have if we had a shell i could build another car.

your mate is write about the viscus they sap power even worse than aircon does, get rid of it and as well as more power ull get better fuel economy as well.

Next time you're there I'd appreciate it if you can check, in the mean time I'll get under the bonnet and see what I've got.

On the down side, I started exploration work with the rust on the back of the sills, it's a little worse than I hoped and will need some new metal before too long, for the short term I'll treat it as a short term fix to treat the rust I can't get rid of (amazing what you can do with a wire stripping head and a drill ;)) fill it and paint it.

Thanks Al!

Email sent Dave;)
Update from Pete regards the build was wide ranging, and leaves plenty of scope for long term development.
Initially I'll be going for a nicely developed head and cam, going with improved intake and exhaust. This won't set the world on fire, but will improve things greatly, and not hurt should I go down the displacement route in the future.
I'll also spend the interim reading up on megasquirt and the like, and the EEC-IV's are apparently a little restrictive.
Onwards and upwards eh?
