had an absolut f#####g nightmare of a day today.
i started of driving over to streetracers and had to stop twice on the way
1st for what i thort was a fire within the wiring loom and the 2nd being
the fuel relay that had fallen out of its socket took me a while to find the
problem and at 06.45 there aint no light about.
after sorting that finally got to gordons place as we were having a new
ECU fitted to the car.
the insterlation of the ECU was fine and car started so gordon started to
map the new ECU however after a few short power runs to see how the map
was performing we heard the scratching from the front of the car we had
a look and bliped the throatal and it turns out the turbo was F####D
needless to say we were not pleased at all so after a quick look round
gordons unit we sorted out a new turbo and after a hour of the problem
i had fitted the new one. gordon proceeded to map the car and the graphs
were looking good as the power was coming earlier and smoother untill we got upto
5100rpm and the car would not rev up anymore. after spending alot of
time trying to diagnose the problem we were losing spark at that point and it turns out the ECU wouldnt go beyond this point so we disconnected it
and went back to the original one in the car.

only good thring from today was that i have fitted a shift light that is going to come on (once ECU fixed) 500rpm before the
bhp starts to tailer off to keep at peak performance.

this is the old turbo and can see where its been catcching on the housing

plan of action
gordon is going to call the ECU company on monday and try to sort out
why it wont allow the car to rev over 5100rpm.
if can sort that out his going to post the ECU to me for tuesday morning
and ill fit it to the car and take it out to test.
and if that works its back over to gordons friday morning at 07.30 for
a 2 hour remap session.

Cheers for the offer of advice Martin.

Following on from our test day we have a small list of niggles, but nothing major.

1. Front suspension too soft
2. Brakes need upgrading
3. Boost pipe for gauge came off
4. Alternator over charging
5. Drivers seat needs lowering
6. Slight blow from manifold
7. Door card rattles
8. Rear arches need rolling
9. Sunroof blew out
10. Bonnet raisers to be fitted - Not running hot just a precaution

A lot has happened with this project but everything is moving in the right direction. Myself, Alan and Gordon have been discussing a few things about the car and our plans. Please bare with us at the moment and we will hopefully be able to update you on our plans and progress early next week;)

Time Attack still forms a major part of our plans but we also need to thank a lot of people:D

Just dropped the car off at Caparo this morning:D. Left it in good company an Aston Martin DB9 and a prototype Caparo T1 with a V12.

Did have a bit of a hiccup this morning got the car started and as Alan was taking it off the drive it just cut out:willy_nilly:. Luckily Alan traced it quickly to a loose coil lead.
