Cheers guys. Hopefully Lee yes :) well, I'll get used to driving through water first before charging in and stalling :D I treated all of them and also applied a little bit of silicone to the inlet hole on the inside of the wing ;)

Well today was a busy morning sorting out stuff to do with the house. But I managed to have some free time to do truck stuff.

I removed the running boards from the truck as it's going to give better roll clearence of the dips and bumps and in time there will be some custom high up rock slider bars fitted to protect the sill over the more adventerous terrain.

Also removed the mudflaps whilst I was at it as I'll be making some custom teathered type ones. Build of those should happen mid next week.

But the main meat of the day was to overhaul one of the roof bars that Nik kindly donated to me. :) Here's some more photos for you.

So stripped the bar down and began to clean the parts before using etching primer, black coat and lacquer. Unfortunately the original bar had to be replaced because it wasn't wide enough for the truck, so a stainless replacement was used. That too was painted. :smash:

Totally chuffed with the outcome, ready for some spotlights (courtesy of Tony) to be mounted to it on a clever drop bracket mech that I have in mind so it can go in and out of the garage without clouting issues.

Hopefully this coming Friday I'll be ordering the exact CB setup as the one I bought dad for his birthday yesterday. (christmas presents permitting)

Mudflaps and 'D' rings arrived yesterday. Also have a couple of free stainless strips thanks to a local engineering company. This has only cost me

Nice work Dan; with all of this mud plugging stuff are you getting some hard-core off road knobbly tyres too?

Cheers Stu  Not yet mate. They rubber on there (including the spare) are all new yokohama a/t's, So in time when they're knackered then it'll be a wheel and tyre change. Also tyre size will be larger too.

Okay so now I have to plan ahead for the imminent collection of the spot lamps from Tony (cheers mate :smash:) Reason to plan ahead is the issue of fitting spot lamps to the roof bar. Normally just bolting it on and away we go would be the best option.

But since the Pajero's garaged every night and with restricted height, it's going to cause problems. Solution. A long drop bracket bar. :)

This will enable me to lower and raise the whole spot lamp bar from the side of the truck with ease for when ever I need the extra light. And convenience of parkng it away every night without clouting the lamps on the garage door. :) Once I've drawn everything up it'll be fabrication time. :smash:
