A huge thanks to Mike B for today  Legend

I had picked up some Cupra R suspension a little while ago- stiffer springs, higher poundage damping and off of a low mileage car; not to mention super cheap. Mike and I agreed to meet up at his fun factory in deepest Essex and we set about hauling the old stuff off, Mike at the front, technical end and me at the back where I could do less harm :)

My end of things went quite well with the separate springs and dampers coming off very easily. Mike had more of a challenge as the ten year old kit was resistant at first, but his Jedi powers were too strong and he wrestled it off. The new kit was slapped on, a quick check over and then I ran it up the road with my new found boost! That's right.........Mike found that the main pipe/hose off of the turbo was virtually hanging off as the hose clip was FUBAR'd, so he swapped that over, nipped it all up and sent me down one the nearby farm tracks for my own little rally shakedown runs :D

The lack of whistle from the leak was a novel thing- it sounds all sophisticated now (well as sophisticated as a VAG four pot can) but pick up is far cleaner and more revs=more power was weird! A good weird though :) The suspension feels more controlled, more solid and better damped. It does need alignment but that's as much down to where I live and the battering the long country lane gives it as it is down to being a new set up. It is very slightly lower, but only very slightly.

Other stuff............
Tomorrow will see several things being painted
eBay is getting plundered as we speak for things that allow more boost and give a more pleasing look.

Nothing ever stands still so I might as well travel in the direction of my choosing :D (I like that phrase........I will copyright that :D )

The morning was topped off by repeatedly listening to various Foo Fighter tunes. Bloody epic
