Very well done, not just for your figures but more importantly, having the bottle and patience to see this through. I had neither :)

Great work Jay and the legends at APT :thumb:

Did not want to start a "mines better than your is" competition as if you looked at her at the moment she looks very sorry. Needs some serious tlc and the paint is awfull but all in good time I have a few more plans to put in place now but thats all over the winter. I am just sooooooooooooo happy.
Sitting in the car while gary was mapping it just amazed me how smooth it all was None of these big turbo Jumps in revs all of a sudden, just a good strong pull up through the rev range to the top.
She is taking part in the dyno shootout in november so i have some tidying to do before then.
Thanks for the replies guys
Over the moon with the whole thing.

Just brought the car back form APT and its the first chance i have really had to stretch her legs a bit and I am over the moon with the power delivery and general feel of the engine.:chuckle::chuckle:

The tracking is way out so a visit to 4 wheel alignment centre is in need. However i have to just vent some of my joy.
3 years without driving a "fast" car has made me forget what a truly awesome feeling it is. There is plenty of low end power while the turbo is spooling up and even though i have the boost controller turned off at the moment the .9 or so of boost comes on like an avalanche of power. She starts to get serious at about 3800 rpm and by 4000 its all hell broken loose  Faster than i can think she needs gear changes and quicker than i can manage at the moment. The gearbox is awesome and must have been rebuilt at some time in its life as the change is very direct and not sloppy at all.I have a few issues that need addressing but overall i am just so happy to be back in such an amazing peice of machinery:smokin::smokin:

I really cant wait to start putting some miles on and learning her all over again.
We made a couple more changes Including new solid bush kit for the rear suspension bed Making a world of difference. I now have a gearnob too which does help with a faster gear change LOL

I have to say that it does scare me a bit as the last memory is still kicking around in my mind but i am sure it will fade with confidence in the car. I intend to start the mammoth tidy up tonight but there are so many "little details" i want to correct i dont really know where to start.

Feel like i am finally worthy of being a member here now that i too have my "Bigpower" car not just a talking point LOL

Speaking of which I still need some stickers for her

I love the way you described the swell of power as the forced induction does its thing

It has only been a couple of years since I have owned a fast car and driven it on the road, but man, I really miss it. The sensation and knowledge of having a car quick enough to test the driver and exciting enough to give you a buzz.

One of the things I miss most of all is the presence that a genuinely fast car has. Maybe it is just in the mind of the beholder, but I used to drive the car almost aware of whether people had 'clocked' what it was or not.

Bizarrely, I used to drive slower then than I do now in the Golf.

Memoirs over, I'm glad you and the 32 are settling back in. Make sure you don't leave it too long before you get some driver coaching. I remember you and I discussed that in a McDonalds a few years ago

Well done mate !!! A great end to your cars saga.

Have to agree with Stuart, its great driving a car that has power whether on boost or off it even though mines over 200 bhp under yours

Look forward to seeing it at the next meet mate !!!

Well done Jay and APT,
This has all come together really quickly.
Can't really remember the last time both our cars were on the road at the same time lol.
See you soon
