Roll Cage

Post by duncan »

I placed the order for the Cusco roll cage with Co-ordsport in the first week of january with them confirming that it would be end of feb before it arrives in the country.

For the last couple of weeks I have been trying to get a delivery date out of them or confirmation that it was in transit. Each time greeted with no information about where it was and being promised a ring back to tell me when it would arrive.

Last resort was to email them to try and get a date out of them and am responded to for once with a date..... MID MAY !!! FFS

Needless to say the order is cancelled and now on the hunt for a cage to be made to my spec very quickly.

Pissed off to say the least as it is unlikely I will be able to get it done for the first event !!!! :x

Options now:

Sparco - no cages for impreza (NO)
OMP - FIA Multipoint only (NO)
Custom Cages - FIA Multipoint only (NO)
ScoobyClinic - SD cage from a classic but only with a fixed rear diagonal (NO)
Roll Centre - custom cage, they can do but need the car for 2 weeks and for it to be stripped out and couldnt start it til mid march (cutting it too fine)

SHP - call made and awaiting a call back - hoping that they can help and the budget is right [-o<

If not I run without a cage - fuck it

I rang up DT and they said not got one listed ...hmm

I suspect that is a multipoint weld in jobbie anyway.

Andy Robinson Cars can do it to my spec (7 point weld in) at a reasonable price but is a no go on time scales.. http://www.robinson-race-cars.co.uk I may have to consider that as an option for post Donny.

On that windage/baffle thingy. How tight do those rubber flaps sit to the underside of the plate, as in, do they sit flat, or hang down slightly when in place?
Handle every stressful situation like a dog. If you can't eat it or hump it, piss on it and walk away!

They hang down Gerry and when the oil is warm they hang down a lot. I was surprised at how flimsey they were.

Proper sump solution being considered and evaulated now.
