okay

Just come off the phone to Eric at Cosworth USA. He was extremely helpful and keen to get this resolved. Thanks Eric

They havent experienced the issues themselves but have only tested on a widebody sump so would be holding an awful lot more oil than the std sump. They do have some customers/dealers over there that may have used on the twin scroll sump (ie the narrow one) that should be able to share their pressure test results.

He fully accepts that the results that we have experienced are purely down to the baffle plates and not install issues. He is therefore looking to do some flow/drain down tests within the research facility to see if they can replicate & cure the issue and will report back to me.

I will post these up when I get them.

In the meantime, it is being re-used as a nice tea tray :D

Is this not something that could be sorted out via Cosworth UK?, or because it's a USA part it can only be sorted by Cosworth USA.

The reason i ask is because Cosworth UK are in Northampton, so not far away, and due to time differences etc... probaqbly easier to deal with.

Or just tell me to bugger off. I'll get me coat!! :D
Buggers cancelled my op just a couple of days before it was due. Inconsiderate barstewards!!

get your coat :D

no, the UK arm palmed us onto USA as they had done the product development. I spoke to the man in charge to get it from the horses mouth :D

Anyway, the long and short of it is that the car is now finished give or take a couple of hours worth of work by the guys - just need to find an afternoon where I can slope off to Nottingham to pick it up :D :D

Ready for the next bits for me to do.

I had a couple of incidents of the bonnet unclipping last year on bumpy fen roads where the catch was dirty and not fully engaging. Been meaning to fit them for the last few months for safety.

Congratulations Dunc! :)

Hopefully mine will be on its way home at the weekend, but I'm not getting over excited just yet! Lots to do on it when it does turn up...

Got a build list similar to yours to sort out!

Good stuff Duncan, looking forward to seeing the results of all this work from Area 52!

Been following the Windage tray thread on SN with interest as I was thinking it was a good idea for mine!

Yeah - seems that the issue could be the pressure differential caused by the plate and my drain to sump breather arrangement. This is not something that cosworth have tested. (mind you they hadnt tested it on a std sump at all)

Long and short of it is breather system is staying but cosworth baffle isnt. I am looking into getting a fully baffled sump though.
